Sephora best-selling hair product, Dae, raises 8 million in their Series A funding. Amber Fillerup continues to build one of the fastest-growing brands in hair.
Dae Hair, a premium hair care products startup based in Mesa, Arizona, has secured $8 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate its growth, according to its founder.
The funding round was led by San Francisco-based Verity Venture Partners, with contributions from West Hollywood-based Digital Brand Architects, influencers Whitney Port, Aimee Song, Christine Andrew, and existing investor Willow Growth Partners, headquartered in Los Angeles.
With this latest funding, Dae Hair’s total capital raised since its inception is now $10.6 million.
“I launched Dae in 2020 based on my experiences as a hair stylist and consumer,” said Amber Fillerup, founder of Dae Hair. “I felt there was a gap in the market, which inspired me to create a clean, simple, and effective collection of hair care essentials designed to elevate any daily hair ritual.”
Dae Hair President Jenny Son stated that the new funds will be used to expand the team and enhance marketing efforts.
“This strategic raise will provide the resources needed to hire support talent, drive top-tier advertising campaigns, and implement lifecycle marketing initiatives that enhance the customer experience both online and at retail,” Son explained.
Currently, Dae Hair employs nine people, with plans to double its workforce in 2023, according to a company spokesperson.
Tina Bou-Saba of Verity Venture Partners highlighted Dae Hair’s brand strength, founder’s dedication, and highly engaged customer base as reasons for their investment.
“Dae has shown its potential to scale rapidly in the prestige haircare category,” said Bou-Saba. “The brand is one of the fastest-growing and most capital-efficient we have seen at this stage in beauty. We are thrilled to partner with Amber, Jenny, and the Dae team for this exciting growth phase.”
Deborah Benton, managing partner of Willow Growth, emphasized the compelling combination of Dae Hair’s botanical ingredients, brand aesthetics, and customer appeal.
“As an investor, finding a powerful brand that delivers highly effective and restorative results under a beautiful brand aesthetic is rare,” Benton stated. “Dae Hair’s value proposition resonates widely across all demographics, celebrating and elevating positivity and self-care.”
