Join Filmmaker Fran Harris for a Screening of “A League of Our Own”

Experience the untold story of women’s professional basketball in the United States with filmmaker Fran Harris at the screening of her latest documentary,”A League of Our Own” (ALOOO). Despite more than 15 attempts to establish a sustainable women’s professional basketball league, only a handful of films have captured this 40+ year journey from its inception to the present day.

About the Film

A League of Our Own stands out for its unique and stylistic approach to documenting women’s basketball. The film runs approximately 59 minutes and will be followed by an engaging Q&A session.

The film is narrated by its producer and director, Fran Harris, whose rich history in women’s basketball adds unparalleled authenticity to the narrative. Fran led Texas to a 34-0 NCAA championship victory before being drafted to the Women’s Basketball Association (WBA) in 1986, a league that unfortunately never materialized. She was later selected as an alternate for the American Basketball League’s (ABL) Seattle Reign in 1996 and became a member of the Houston Comets’ inaugural WNBA Championship team in 1997.

A Unique Perspective

Fran’s extensive background in the sport provides her with a unique perspective that she brings to **”A League of Our Own”**. Beyond her playing career, Fran has covered the WNBA as an announcer for Lifetime TV, FOX, and ESPN for over a decade, and she currently serves as an announcer for the Dallas Wings franchise.
